This year Foothills Academy has adopted a new, school-wide theme: SHELTER. Started in September, and continuing into October, we are looking at shelter in a very real, physical sense, shelters for animals and humans. In addition to Monday Morning Meetings, What-in-the-World questions, and student presentations, the library will provide supporting displays relating to homelessness, the evolution of architecture, and later the shelter of culture, mind, and heart, shelter for the Earth, and survival shelter. Shelter-related books will be displayed on the first row of shelves in the library.
Focus for October: Physical Shelter for Humans and Animals

Our annual reading meeting will be part of Inside Scoop, scheduled for November 3rd. As part of Foothills' goal of learning for life, the language program seeks to develop lifelong, discriminating readers. Learn how you as parents can support your reader through stories and lively conversation. Look for more details in the upcoming Footprints.
