Library: Parent Read Aloud

Initiated in the Fall of 2000, the Parent Reat-Aloud service has put over 400 books into the hands of parents. At the present time the service is available to parents of children in the kindergarten through 4th grade.

Book Bags

Each child will be presented with their own, personal book bag. Based on information you provide on our Registration form, we will fill the bag with some wonderful books that fit your child's interest and listeneing level, plus gems you may not have found in your local libray. You will receive a mix of chapter and picture books appropriate to the age of your child.

Response Sheet

Each time a book bag is sent home a parent response sheet will be included. This gives parents an opportunity to let us know which books their child in enjoying, and helps us to fine-tune future selections. Likes/dislikes, changes in hobbies, new interests, etc. can be communicated through the response sheet.

Schedule

How often you receive read-aloud book bag refills depends on you. Read at your leisure, all books are renewable. When your book bag is returned to the library it will be refilled.
